The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - UN Human Rights

UN Human Rights

by

James Bredin

They use "human rights" to disguise their agenda,
International socialism in propaganda,
Goody-two-shoe appointees concerned about a wall,
The Israelis are building and they want them to stall.

Send troops to Africa because thatís so cool,
But no need for democracy where dictators rule,
Politically correct though, so thereís no need to ask,
Remember Rwanda -- that disagreeable task?

Sometimes millions of people have to up and flee,
To escape the bullets, machetes or HIV,
And the UN says it has all the answers,
Their medicines just might cure AIDS or cancers.

So send $millions and $billions for hunger and AIDS,
And if youíre coming donít call it "crusades,"
Because that too is a word that cannot be used,
Someone might point a finger and we could be accused.
