The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Minority Governments the way to go
Minority Governments the way to go
They award each other medals they donít deserve,
Appointments to judicial positions, they reserved,
For special friends who may have a hidden agenda,
While their press keeps up their constant propaganda.
Write it in a red book, a blue book or a letter,
Then tax and spend and slowly turn us into debtors,
Fog of phony politics pumped out by talking heads,
Ten years of monopoly by those Liberal nerds.
Minority government could be the best thing yet,
Tax and spend majorities have put us all in debt,
They never paid down this debt though they claim weíre ok,
And believe it or not, they still want to stay.
Canít change their Charter, have referendums or recall,
Theyíll appoint all the people they want to install,
Canít vote for a prime minister, senator or judge,
In minority government, could they still fudge?
Could free votes in parliament cut down on the bull?
Because now all laws, their Supreme Court can annul,
Could we impeach a prime minister who lies through his teeth?
To get them to believe their cheating is complete.
