The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Majority Government
The pantomime of parliament is just a trap,
Full of loud mouth pompous politicians and crap,
Where the TV cameras are not allowed to look about,
At the many empty seats or have any doubts.
A majority government should not happen,
It has made prime ministers dictators laughing,
And ethics is a thing soon to be forgotten,
Appointing delegates absolutely rotten.
And the people are trapped and cannot make a change,
No referendums, recall -- nothing to rearrange,
No proportional representation or impeachment,
Stuck in status quo of weasel words and excrement.
And of course you don’t know ‘cause you’re not allowed to think,
About the ethics and conspiracies with a wink,
They hype their questions as if this is democracy,
But no changes in a majority autocracy.
