The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Did the Liberals Lie?

Did the Liberals Lie?

by

James Bredin

The tide does eventually change no matter what,
And the Liberals will soon know how to squat,
Will we ever know how many should be in jail?
Or in a minority, might they still prevail?

Their corrupt Adscam stuff all swept under the rug,
Maneuvered off front page by their election shrug,
Shawinigan shenanigans came in with this tide,
And conspiracy with Adscam washed away their pride.

But a corrupt party in desperate need of votes,
International socialists which the UN promotes,
Harping on about human rights very far away,
Taxing and spending and always in the gray.

They want strong government with no property rights,
With the Trudeau/Chretien Charter, this is in sight,
No referendums, elected senate or callbacks,
Appointees to the Supreme Court donít need the facts.

"Cause they deal with that Charter and thatís all they need,
Their own interpretation and their unquestioned creed,
In a judicial dictatorship thereís no need to think,
Believe, have faith and no matter what they do, donít blink.
