The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Canadian Election 2004
Canadian Election 2004
That June election clearly showed the fault lines,
In the country, in the system - not the first time,
And politicians who refuse to see it must be blind,
And deaf as a solution they pretend they canít find.
Those in the West are not represented any more,
Neither are those in Quebec without spirit de corps,
But Liberals in Ontario think this is grand,
Well represented in Ottawa like they planned.
Those in fly-over country are just looked down on,
By politicians who think of them like morons,
No referendums, elected senate -- nothing at all,
No questions, answers, property rights or recall.
Proportion representation -- not a mention,
By politicians enroute to a convention,
That could interfere with their special status quo,
And all those Adscam politicians lying low.
