The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - War

James Bredin

Sometimes life is overwhelmingly cruel,

Unpredictable like a kicking mule,

Or slow illusion of the oncoming train,

Looming events with their own timeframe.

Were planning this war by the press release,

Helpless we hope to laugh and love long in peace,

With no war wounds or accounts to tell,

Or terrible events on which to dwell.

But how to stop these terrorist affairs?

As they claim god on their side and in their prayers,

Has religion of peace been twisted for war?

The score Ground Zero is hard to ignore.
