The United Nations and You
What did Saddam, Milosevic and Ceausescu have in common?
They were esteemed at the UN without the wisdom of Solomon,
With other dour despots and dictators -- into power at all costs,
No democracy here where they all bow their head towards the boss.
And in the guise of human rights, arrange the organization,
Hijacked for their relations, insuring their dictatorial salvation,
Disguise direction of the delegates as they maneuver and manipulate,
Point fingers and command, castigate, stipulate and calculate.
They want money by the billions and peacekeepers by the million,
Divisions, regiments or battalions to parade on their pavilion,
To battle their brutal conflicts and banish their opposition,
With UN permission, which makes it legal in the UN tradition.
And their International Criminal Court is their only way to go,
Where they delay decisions and for years while prancing to and fro,
And nationalism is an undesirable trend that should be stopped,
And the American better come around or they just might be dropped.
