The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - The Economy
Iíll never understand why an economy is good
Is it the faces or the places or the brotherhood?
Is it something to do with loans ledgers or location?
Could it be foundation, plantation or adaptation?
Is it the currency, the coinage or the banks full of dough?
That allows them to gradually grow and build their chateau?
Is it wild or willing workers, with or without much wages?
Did it happen in stages or since the middle ages?
Is it something that just happens more by luck than design?
Does it need a dollar, pound or euro assembly line?
Is it oil down below, cows on the ground or god in the sky?
Is it something I donít know and may never know why?
Is it the systems, the structures or the architecture?
Their productivity, or order or the agriculture?
Is it the benefits, money management or something Iíve missed?
Let me know if you know and Iíll add it to this short list.
