The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - The C B C

The C B C

James Bredin

The CBC is a closed world - an enclave on their own,
Their announcers all seem to have the same DNA clone,
They’re an inward looking clique that could care and understand Mo,
Walled in insulated, isolated in their own status quo.

Their constant pompous propaganda permeates us all,
Refuse to discuss referendums or political recall,
Their bureaucracies should be reduced by ninety per cent,
Sold into slavery or told to go and live in a tent.

But now I digress and though I don’t feel one bit ashamed,
To think that these left-wing bureaucrats will all be inflamed,
But these sanctimonious nerds never need to react,
Not in their closed-in society, weasel-word family compact.

There’s nothing we can do about this menacing machine,
Constantly canting the party line - so obviously obscene,
Pumping out their propaganda like Hitler, Stalin or Mo,
And we are merely numbers that listen and learn to kowtow.
