The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Prejudiced Cops

Prejudiced Cops

by

James Bredin

I was stopped by the cops while driving Danforth Road last week,
I want someone to investigate that pompous prejudiced geek,
I know he stopped my car for only one intolerant reason,
Obviously racial profiling ‘cause this is the season.

He knew I was Irish and picked my car me out of traffic,
The stern look on his face was extreme-anti-Irish graphic,
He was pompous and prejudiced just like the papers said,
Listening for my accent and looking at my face that was red.

We should have an inquiry for racial profiling now,
They should stop stopping me and everyone else somehow,
It should sell many more papers and pretend to help the poor,
And if you believe any of this, see your psychiatrist for a cure.
