The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Pathetic Plight

Pathetic Plight

by

James Bredin

Chretien was caught in his own cowardly trap,
When he refused to fight for freedom in Iraq,
He still claims to be so righteous and right,
Delusions of grandeur in his pathetic plight.

He claimed he wanted to just sit on the fence,
Despite those who told him that this was dense,
He had a newly released poll from the far left,
Socialists said that the Americans were bereft.

But heíll plod on because he canít be removed,
Canít be impeached or recalled and most disapproved,
And like his friend Saddam, he can stay and stay,
And weíre forced to listen and he just wonít go away.
