The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - A Legacy of Lechery
A Legacy of Lechery
His legacy of lechery leaves us lacking rules,
Lurking reluctant to admit we’ve been taken for fools,
By this Shawinigan shyster of the sixty cent dollar,
Shoved us into his confederation charter collar.
With rights for "everyone" especially the sinister,
While we’re not allowed to elect this prime minister,
Who appoints his friends to positions that help him stay,
Never send him a subpoena - just delay it away.
Pumping out his pernicious propaganda of the left,
A missing billion here, another there; could it be theft?
And we’re not even allowed a set election date,
Or a proportional representation debate.
And in two double o four he might or might not retire,
Or change his mind again ‘cause he is a known liar,
‘Cause we have no term limits and he can stay for life,
Master manipulator of the media without strife.
Canadians are told of course that they have it made,
Protected by the US, there’s no need to be afraid,
And when the dollar drops down all the way to a dime,
Prime minister will tell us we’re having a great time.
