The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Politically Correct Canadian Politics

Politically Correct Canadian Politics

James Bredin

Liberal sleaze and cronyism involves contracts with friends,
Their political conflict of interest is one of their continuous trends,
The auditor-generalsí reports for the past ten years,
Proclaim these pushy pompous politicians have no particular fears.

Their lax government standards have left us all bereft,
Their lack of ethics and oversights may amount to outright theft,
But no one knows for sure Ďcause no one takes the fall,
Itís all hidden behind their high no-access Act wall

Add to this a prime minister, who begged loans for friends,
For a shady shack in Shawinigan and other odds and ends,
Public opinion Ďbout these sleazy types is almost forgotten
They were reelected which shows how the system is rotten,

Their funny financial funds have politically correct names,
Called "Canadian values" in their sleazy socialist games,
These politically correct creeps are never never queried,
Nor referendums, term limits or callbacks for the wearied.

The many acronyms and names leave a haze in the air,
Secretive socialist welfare agencies with nothing to declare,
A 60-cent dollar, the national debt and we may end up in rags.

This Liberal legacy of waste, larceny and maneuvering money,
Mismanagement and theft without scrutiny isnít funny,
And Shawinigan shenanigans continue as you read this,
With that and their parliamentary majority they canít miss.

Not only does this hazy cloud of sleaze saturate the nation,
But Liberals also hide money in nine different foundations,
And the appointed ethics guy and appointed RCMP commissioner,
Are busy cooling off in front of an air conditioner.
