The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Canadian Rumor
He’s going to double the Goods and Services Tax,
There’s nothing anyone can do; so sit back and relax,
And if one of you should mention this or even holler,
He may reduce by half the value of your dollar.
He’s giving the money to Communist friend Mugabe,
Wants Canadians equal to those in Zimbabwe,
Or maybe equal to all those nice Haitians,
He speaks French with them visiting the United Nations.
He’s off now deciding in some far off resort,
Who to appoint to the Senate or the Supreme Court,
He’ll have to control all this Liberal Party strife,
With important announcement that he’ll stay for life.
‘Cause he knows one who wants his job like a hungry vulture,
He’ll declare a holiday to celebrate culture,
Distract their attention with lots of propaganda,
One of these years so take a note; make memoranda.
And the media could mention how he controlled crime,
But who wants to steal when the dollar’s worth a dime?
And why is the West so right wing and vehement?
Can’t they see the light in the Kyoto Agreement?
