Today we got their message in big bold print,
‘Bout beaming politicians - some came and some went.
Photographs of the celebrants all front and center,
Promoted to cabinet posts by their mere mentor.
And Chretien stood in the snow and will stay for life.
Without Canadian term limits there’s no political strife.
Celebrate, write the date ‘cause everything is great.
Accept the hype, he’s here for life, we’re such a lucky state!
But don’t tell anyone ‘bout the rate of exchange,
That sixty-two cent dollar may seem very strange,
And don’t tell anyone ‘bout referenda,
It might interfere with their socialist agenda.
Forget the six hundred billion dollar national debt,
When flying ‘round the world on a Team Canada jet,
Forget the senators and the supreme court judges,
Appointed for life without questions but nudges.
