The Web Poetry Corner - James Bredin - Instant April Summer

Instant April Summer

by

James Bredin

Instant April summer, please stay!
‘Cause I know you can quickly fade away,
You can vanish swiftly in one snowy day,
And come back for sure maybe in May.

I know that cold winter still lurks and lingers,
Ready to return to me with frozen fingers,
And can come without a moments notice,
And freeze my impatiens and American lotus.
