The Web Poetry Corner - J D Cully - No Mercia

No Mercia

by

J D Cully

I'm full of esprit de l'escalier
So I answer in verse as it's the only way
Yammering about how you tell people
To get up and get on with it
Do you honestly imagine
That I'll ever agree one bit?

You give me that sick smile and say you're hard
But you're just a piece of monkey cr@p to this bard

A leftward step, a rightward tack
Every time you circle back
Your religion sucks and your face is set
How many months did the Chinese get?
You're a bozo mother and a bozo wife
And I want none of your bulldozer life

Proud to be a harpie, most relentlessly
If you want to cheer me up then you'd better hurry up
And walk a thousand miles from me
I'd need an AK47 to tap into your brain
You're welcome to the Grim Bears...
I'm sticking with Miss Kane.
