The Web Poetry Corner - J. M. Hallett - Then and Now

Then and Now

by

J. M. Hallett

In the carefree days of your youth
You asked wary strangers for change
And with their charitable benefactions
You bought weed, food and wine
And you danced in the moonlight, content
Yet you wince as you pass today's needy
Callously ignoring their pleas

NEXT?
Why don't you look at Every day that passes?
