The Web Poetry Corner - J. M. Hallett - Behind Her Smile

Behind Her Smile

by

J. M. Hallett

Behind her smile
Way, way in the back
There's some freaky stuff, man
Scary, like a heart attack
Cold and dark... and final
Stuff from which one cannot run
So, I'll tell you what
Let's just not go there
Whadda you say
We just keep it all out in front
With the glitz and the cameras
And the glamour and style
And not venture back there
Behind her smile

NEXT?
Why don't you look at Givers of Joy
