Another Burp

Thrice seven rifles fire
Then bagpipes trail
As the hopes and dreams
Of eighteen years
Are laid to rest
Another AR-15 ordered
Another ten thousand rounds
Another marble cross
Another wooden box
Another polyester flag
Another burp
For a crippled economy
Fueled by the deaths
Of the children
Of our less fortunate poor
