The Web Poetry Corner - Helen Paquin - Two Vagrants

Two Vagrants

by

Helen Paquin

The kitten a-snoopin'
Found a huge cardbox that
Someone was sleepin' in
Kitten thought it strange
That someone slept there
Weren't cardboxes for
Kitty cats and their kin?

He slipped in beside the fella
Then purred up a storm
Fella put his arm 'round kitty-
Kitty knew cardboxes
Would keep a kitty warm
