The Web Poetry Corner - Helen Paquin - Silent Squeals
Silent Squeals
by
Helen Paquin
The toybox sits lonely there
The toys inside-
Loneliness, also share
Little hands no longer
Take up baby doll
She stays in box-
With toys, one and all
Toys no longer
Strung around the floor
No little hands
Collecting... anymore
Years fly by
Little ones grow
Soon, other things call
Wandering legs go
Then toybox is lifted
"Donate"... The word
And toybox, anxious again
For the next little
Squeals to be heard
NEXT?
Why don't you look at
