The Web Poetry Corner - Helen Paquin - His Pain
His Pain
by
Helen Paquin
He spoke to me
told me of his hurt
his loneliness
since she left
It was there
in his voice
in his face
The sadness
the longing
the hidden tears
"I love her"
he said
and the anguish
was there
waiting
for her return
