The Web Poetry Corner - Helen Paquin - Fishing for Fish

Fishing for Fish

by

Helen Paquin

A fishing guide
Fell madly in love
With the fishing gal;
But she was only
Interested-
In a fishing pal

His heart ticked
So much faster
Each time in
boat, they sat-
But her eyes were
for searching, Where
her fish were at

She shunned his love
Her love was fish; His
heart became so blue;
His boat sank-
His car wrecked-
Oh man-
I think his
Wits flew too!
