The Web Poetry Corner - Heather Nicole Luther - Never Would Have Known

Never Would Have Known

by

Heather Nicole Luther

Now that I look back I realize
That I never would have known it,
And if someone would have told me
I wouldn’t have believed them one little bit.

I never would have known that
We would turn out to be friends,
And I never thought it would turn out to be
A friendship ‘til the end.

I never would have known that
He noticed me at all,
But then he made the first moves
And in love with him I was to fall.

I never would have known that
We would be like we are now,
And I still can’t understand what happened
And I still don’t know how.

I never would have known that
He’d end up being the one I love,
But I’m so glad it happened that way
‘Cause he’s my angel from above.

I never would have known that
He’d hold me in his arms with care,
And I never knew that he would be the one
That with the good times I would share.

I never would have known that
He’d love me for me,
But God blessed me dearly by
Making things the way they were meant to be.
