The Web Poetry Corner - Hay Machine - The Lands of Tib and Tom
The Lands of Tib and Tom
by
Hay Machine
The reign of mad King George III
remembered for defeat
saw Dublin rise on Gandon's tide
down many a Georgian street
When you walk from the end of Ely Place
where Stoker and Gogarty played
see what we lost where the General slept
when the townies began to parade
Yellow-beaked thrush with your constant eye
on the Lands of Tib and of Tom
you are still the same today as then
it's we that have gone wrong
NEXT?
Why don't you look at
I often think
