The Web Poetry Corner - Hay Machine - Permanent History

Permanent History

by

Hay Machine

Light shine of star
travelling
a million light years later
from this sun long dead
caught in the beholder's eye
a perfect image

Stone-cutter's yard Kilmainham
third day of May
nineteen sixteen
three thirty in the morning
first light projects
an arc of perfect image

Beal na mBlath
twenty second day of August
nineteen twenty two
eight ten in the evening
twilight projects
an arc of perfect image

A well-aimed thought travels
faster than immortal light
intersecting perfect images
where truth resides
perfectly preserved out there
in perfect timelessness
