The Web Poetry Corner - Hay Machine - Mirra Mirra on the Wall

Mirra Mirra on the Wall

by

Hay Machine

(for Gooay Bonga)

Hitchcock's measured intrigue
and monochrome'd decency
hits eerie times
where the suspense
is Barbie-zoned

In the shaving mirra
out of the blue
a relentless stalking mimic
shaves and keeps the straightest face
although it's Barbie-zoned

During Samhain
the door opened to the other side
interconnecting to the shee world
as passions roamed
and Fionn kept his head

The one thing I admire about his lot
his daughter
splendid just like mine
she talks a lot
shaving now a four-way dialogue

Bless my soul
he came on holidays with us
and brought his family along
if that itself is not effrontery
he booked the same hotel and every time
we sang he sang the self-same song

Hitchcock-worse
he booked a room the same as ours
and in the Mirra
I could see them brush their teeth
and naked use the showers

If I could places change with him
I'd not be standing-order tied
my daughter wouldn't have to go to school
and not arriving late
shee wouldn't have to speak in phrases lied
