The Web Poetry Corner - Hay Machine - Microsoft Sandyford Dublin

Microsoft Sandyford Dublin

by

Hay Machine

I saw two technoclerks behind a pane of glass
an unimpressive sight on just appearances alas
two it took to route a hundred million signals through
from Moscow to Paris France to Dublin and Peru

Each brain once was independent
underused and overloaded
now they're linked in sequence and on-line
their thoughts decoded
intellects once insular connected are superior
life with greater brain by far all problems seem inferior

No reason now why every prison
orphanage and mental home
is not linked up with monitor
a camera lens computer and a telephone
give the UN something useful for a change to do
ensure there's never built another Gulag Archipelago

That's my work for all this week complete
afterwards with e-mail speed I'll dream
another superhuman fete
the sending of a willion thoughts like these
can echo round the world at once like pollen carried easy
on a pleasant Summer breeze
