Happiness isn't Everything
by
Hay Machine
Drip drop stop
to the beetroot in vinegar
time is an outside thing
delivering a mighty sting
Photograph album
exhibits razor-slices
of treasured time in lotion
tranquillity recollected in emotion
That crunch when
the front tooth is pliered
painfully from its socket
is time itself don't mock it
The vacuum pump
can create a nothingness
and move time in space
from one point to another place
The Prison cell takes life away
and those who know its coldness
call the experience sublime
in its smallest fraction simply time
Lost love is a hole that never fills
or forgets with a substitute to ease its ache
the value of the shortest lovelife
expressed in terms of all this give and take
