It is dawning the likely certainty
of other worlds like ours and not
the infinity of this earthly universe
displacing the divinity of the next

The soul whose child is love
has depths and lonesome deeps
mismatched coil with mountain's span of life
easy only when it sleeps

At the bottom of heart my children play
sweet tunes more hopeful than the break of every day
their shrieks and sighs all passion in one place
my heart aching-full when I can see the beauty of the face
