The Web Poetry Corner - Hay Machine - Ballycroy

Ballycroy

by

Hay Machine

He was planning to cut hay
out by Ballycroy
But the postman calls at noon
or thereabouts to-day
And he will not speak with strangers
out by Ballycroy
Because he's no informer
And what would neighbours say

He is dead-set in his ways
out by Ballycroy
And his strategies are weak
when they're compared with all his culture
He is full of it to-day
out by Ballycroy
The way the seaweed drapes dry
On the grey rocks of Clew Bay
