The Web Poetry Corner - Gaele Arnott - The First of March

The First of March

by

Gaele Arnott

Butterflies flit through the Camphor Laurel Tree,
amongst the homes of the little Blue Wren.
Together they enjoy the end of summer,
as we see the first day of Autumn begin.
Golden Red leaves are commencing to appear,
bringing the thought of winter near.
A deciduous tree of another clime,
brings patterns of winter,
unknown.
A Queensland sun smiles,
in patronage
and delights in the sahring
of culture
with an AUstralian Gum.
Baby Blue Wren, now grown
twitter with delight,
as the butterflies flit
to other realms
with stories to be told
of the ways of the earth
and inhabitants
as Autumn
begins.
