The Web Poetry Corner - Gabrielle Bajuscik - ancient school bus
ancient school bus
by
Gabrielle Bajuscik
the music plays slower and slower
in my head
I no longer hold my breathe over the
river
my childhood is melting away
secretly smiling out the fogged window
of the ancient school bus
its pained windows smeared by the passing
fingertips
watching the lines of time pass us by
finding new ones as we go
I listen to how everyone complains about
how hard it is to write on an ancient school
bus speeding through time
