The Web Poetry Corner - Fred Mason - TORNADO.

TORNADO.

by

Fred Mason

Wind...Dust...Blurred sky.
Sheets of iron racing by.
Funnel loops...Bends...Straightens out.
Deafening sound...too loud to hear.
Is this the end?...the end is near.

No time to think...hold on tight.
Roof flies off...sky in sight.
Wall peels away...can see branchless trees.
Hanging on for dear life...i wish the wind would ease?.

On and on ...will it never end?.
Just me on the floor...and the elements to defend.
Then suddenly it stopped...as if to say.
I'll be back ...another day.
