The Web Poetry Corner - Fred Mason - The Quimbo

The Quimbo

by

Fred Mason

The Quimbo looked odd as he walked down the street.
A coalminers lantern on his head and snow shoes on his feet.
He always sang the Pumpkin Wumpkin Song.
At the top of his voice as he gaily strolled along.

His friend the Plumbo was walking towards him.
On his shoulder sat a hen.On a lead was a cat called Jim.
They discussed matters of the world for quite a bit.
Together they composed a song.Quite sure it would be a hit.

Just then Quimsey-Quamsey arrived on the seen.
He was tall and jolly and lived in a submarine.
All three talked together for quite a while.
One of them cracked a joke. They all began to smile.

They all held hands and danced the dance of joy.
All the Flisbies gathered round thinking it was a kind of ploy.
It gained momentum and everyone joined in.
The Crombles.The Twimbles.They all had a fling.
