The Web Poetry Corner - Fred Mason - My Toe

My Toe

by

Fred Mason

I looked at my toe.
My toe looked at me.
"What can you see?".I asked.
"I can't see past our knee".It sighed.
I raised my foot and bent down.
"Is that all right?".I asked.
"Your face gave me a fright".Was the reply.
"Put me down straight away,
on the ground i'll think i'll stay".
"You stay your end,and i'll stay mine,
and our lives will be sublime".
