The Web Poetry Corner - Fred Mason - Ice Man

Ice Man

by

Fred Mason

Five thousand years ago he did die.
Five thousand years ago he did sigh his last sigh.
What kind of life did Ice Man enjoy?.
What kind of reasoning and what thoughts did he employ?.

In a day in the life of Ice Man.What did he do?.
Maybe a hunting he would go.Some meat for the stew!
A trader ,maybe, and travelling both far and wide.
Maybe skins and tin,and trinkets he would have plied.

A village he would have lived in that used reeds and sticks.
Sticks for the walls.Reeds for the roof's.They had no bricks.
Their meat would have been smoked so it would last.
Vegetables grown in the valleys;suppliments their repast.

In the summer games they would play.
Their voice's.How did they sound?.What would they say?.
Where they at war?.Did they live in peace?.
So many question's.They will never cease.
