The Web Poetry Corner - Francis Duggan - Cindy

Cindy

by

Francis Duggan

Her relationship with don is past repairing
I've had it up to here with men she said
But cindy said the same just a few years back
Around that time when she split up with ted.

A month to five weeks back she and don parted
And cindy for her ex lover shed tears
But she also wept for ted when their love ended
And that is only going back a few years.

She said back then that she was through with all men
And from her life ted scarcely a month gone
But cindy quick to forget all she'd spoken
When she met with and fell in love with don.

But cindy has already found a new love david
And they've been seen together hand in hand
She vowed that she was through with men forever
But cindy her own self don't understand.

And if and when she parts with her dear david
She'll weep and tell her friends enough, no more
But she will find herself another lover
You well might say we've heard it all before.

She feels so down when love for her has ended
I'll have no more to do with men she say
But those who know cindy will only tell you
That her next love can't be too far away.
