The Web Poetry Corner - Faye Hoffman - No Way Out

No Way Out

by

Faye Hoffman

Days go by,
I forget the day and time.
Living in a madhouse,
going blind.

Confused and disillusioned,
angry at the Gods.
Losing all reality,
sinking in the sands.

Looking for a door,
to take me out of here.
The box is getting smaller,
there's only blackness everywhere.

Escape is only in my mind.
I'm sick from being alive.
I can barely see in front of me.
I can no longer close my eyes.

Despair is my only friend.
Anguish feeds my soul.
Pain is all around me.
I suffer because I am.
