The Web Poetry Corner - Faye Hoffman - Getting Old

Getting Old

by

Faye Hoffman

I'm afraid of getting old.
Afraid of stories,I've been told.
The things of youth, that used to be,
the love we've known,no longer free.

Forgotten years,forgotten tears.
Nothing left, but a life filled with fears.
Days turn into hours, life now takes it's toll.
Thngs are soon forgotten, from the years that time has stole.

With time gone by,we look upon,
our past mistakes, and all that's gone.
Trapped inside an ancient tomb,
afraid to look into the mirror of doom.
