The Web Poetry Corner - Faye Hoffman - All Over Again

All Over Again

by

Faye Hoffman

Got off the boat this morning.
Went as far as I could go.
Looking for a motel,
walking in the snow.

Noone in their right mind,
would ever come this far.
It's the only way, that I could be sure,
I wouldn't see you anymore.

It's raining on my face,
as I walk toward the store.
People staring at me,
as I walk up to the door.

You can tell I don't belong here.
My world is out of place.
I'm in a foreign country.
There's a lost look on my face.

But in time,
I'll be just fine.
I'll settle in again,
and leave the past behind.

Just forget a while,
about what you have done.
Start all over again,
until the next time, I have to run.
