The Web Poetry Corner - Estel Sowell - Picking Up The Pieces

Picking Up The Pieces

by

Estel Sowell

Picking up the pieces
Roaming streets of plunder
Reaching out to those in need
Victims of the thunder

Praying for the families
Of loved ones who were lost
Victims of a terrorist
Who knows the pain he's caused

Puppets crashed the planes
That killed so many folks
Bin Laden pulled the strings
And the flames he did stoke

He doesn't care for anyone
Who does not heed his word
A Holy War fanatic
He makes my stomach churn

America strikes back
With a force undenied
But i wonder what the cost
Because war is genocide

My grandfather said many times
Two wrongs don't make a right
I just hope we follow GOD
And rise above this our plight
