The Web Poetry Corner - Estel Sowell - Indulgence

Indulgence

by

Estel Sowell

So churns the maggot
Feasting on a decaying
Black bird
Writhing and squirming
Like murder they continue
To usurp the putrid
Once swooping fowl
Against all rivals
The lowly maggot
Reigns supreme
Reveling in death spirals
They wait
Patiently
Hungry
The worms work their way
Throughout her flesh
That once was living
All is final
Bones stripped clean
Suicidal
No
Spooky voodoo
I think not
Illogical
?
