Snuggle Vampire
by
Erik Walter Lauritzen
For her I'd never look at window dressing again,
spray-painted manequins that resemlbe
people but are hollow and unfeeling.
For her I'd cuddle away all the hours of the day,
catch a wind storm in a jar for her to
hold,
for she could tame those gusts with
her jarring lust for life.
And for that lust I am damned to walk behind
her bursting with desire as she floats along
her way,
And today is the last day of the
first of my life, and forever I would want
her,
for her caramel hips and gum-drop
nipples,
but when old age appears at the
footlights of the stage,
I'll forever want her for her lovingly
wonderful wit and her
savoy lips.
For her I'd hold my breath for a year,
just to have her near,
I am a snuggle vampire,
her embrace gives me life.
