The Web Poetry Corner - Emma - Louise Braiden - Thoughts of a bitter friend

Thoughts of a bitter friend

by

Emma - Louise Braiden

I am a bitter, closed in person
Though this does not show
You think that i am happy
You think that i am free
But i know that this can never be.

I do not blame my parents
For this change they made in me
To see her walk out the door
It would have happened anyway
It was the right thing, so they say.

You can never understand
I know you struggle
You feel pain, hurt and grief
But your life is perfect
Beyond belief

You have a family, under one roof
Under one name
One life
You have happiness at your doorstep
Are you, can you, do you really feel pain?

I have sympathy for your obstacles
However small they may seem to me
I know they are mountains
In your path
But can you see my tear-stains?

Please realise that i am not like you
Not as beautiful, or as inteligent
Not as content to let my down my walls
Please see that when i'm down
I have so much further to fall.
