The Web Poetry Corner - Dwayne Pagnotto - The Unsung
The Unsung
by
Dwayne Pagnotto
The beautiful and mysterious fortune teller
Placed her hands upon the temples of the young adventurer
Then after a short time of momentary perception
She bespoke with great and measured sadness:
"I am very sorry young man
I can sense no aura about you
I see nothing distinct in your future.
I am truely sorry."
As the young man turned to leave
He turned back once more
And said to the reader of fates:
"If you can sense no aura around me
So be it
But answer me one question."
Ask...she said.
"Indeed is this not the greatest aura of all
To be unknowable?"
The woman said nothing
But simply nodded her head in slow acceptance.
And thus the young adventurer
Returned back from whence he came.
And so remained
Unknown.
