The Music Box
by
Dwayne Pagnotto
Because each person's life is a music box
Fragile in its design
So we should cherish more
Each passing note
And the echo that it leaves behind.
And as the chimes that play
Become slower and slower
And the precious toy unwinds
If we listen very closely after the music fades
We find the melody lingers on in our minds.
And tho some songs are happy
While others are sad
And are over before they reach their prime
It seems somehow that each tune heard
Gives something special back to mankind.
Still other songs we hear
Are composed by greatness
And with a heavenly light they shine
As each person's music box becomes a treasure
And in our hearts its song we enshrine.
