Awakening Forest Life

The miracle trees flourish in sudden beauty bright
Springing forth fresh from the warm ambient light

They sing together as one.

Feel the sky thrill your skin thru the cool open expanses
Trickling down seductively thru the intersecting branches.

Hear the high soaring celestial music which floats down from unimaginable spheres.

There unseen, just beyond the waving green
Roam the timid lovely deer

Which move about undisturbed in nature's serene dances...

Hush, a footstep.....the soft breaking of a twig
And they scatter with frightened glances.

Then out of nowhere there comes a visible change in the breeze
Followed by a slight after-rustling of the playful wondering leaves.

Pause now and look all around you
At the breathtaking splendor which meets your gaze

Then wander along respectfully thru this deep hallowed wood
With your heart bursting in a rhapsody of praise.

Now turn and find your way back down that long winding trail once more.
Bid a reluctant farewell to all the sweet forest creatures

Who seem just a bit sadder than before.

Time to depart these mystical woods
Which greet you with birdsong and golden flowers.

And sighs over your leave-taking by sending behind you
A crisp sprinkling of autumn showers
