The Web Poetry Corner - Dr. Mark Winegar - Missouri River

Missouri River

by

Dr. Mark Winegar

Missouri River
flows to the Mississippi
while the northwind blows.

Old highway fourty-four
keeps heading west to the "rez"
under Dakota's sun.

A young Lakota man
moves slowly towards home
As the wind whistles.
